The Rainy Season has begun!

Dear Rainy Day Reader,

Today is one of those mellow, gray, contemplate life sort of days. The skies have been threatening to unleash the commencement of the rains yesterday, but the stubborn sun persisted and eventually won after a morning of hiding behind the clouds. Today, however, the sun quickly cowered after an early morning appearance and a heavy cover of gray descended over Dar. And then about 2 hours ago, the rains began. Heavy, with distant rolls of thunder, the rain has arrived. Soaked clean clothes hang battered on laundry lines, water is seeping in under doors and through cracks, the mud streets are washing away, but there is the cozy feeling of everyone in the neighborhood being tucked away and restful and inside. With the pounding of the poring raining outside my windows to confirm my words, I am announcing the official start to the first rainy season to be lived in the life of Grace Mendola.
Contemplative thoughts to come. :-)

Dearest Grace,

I just got back from a short vacation (Happy be-lated Easter) and sat down to read the latest from Grace Mendola. I talk wth Deb often so I also get an update from her. Glad to hear you are well and doing great things in Dar. Love hearing about your life. Keep up the good work. Love, Nancy Freitas (rogersair)
